On such a rainy, gray day, Sonya needed some color.
Looking around the cafe, with the wide front windows that showcased the drab weather, her eyes softly took in the overhead yellow lights, the warm wood paneled walls, and the glittering gold, plastic stars that Starbucks decorated their shop with. A total contrast to the blue and gray outside.
If she closed her eyes, the colors could come together in new and interesting ways behind her eyelids. The blues became warmer, the yellows brighter, and the the glint of the plastic stars flicked around her like fairy fire.
People came in and out of the shop wearing suits the same shade as the weather, but that didn’t matter. With her eyes closed, they were all brilliantly colored.
